In Late July, 2004 we completed the renovation of our historic barn into a modern kennel facility. Built in 1920, this classic barn is composed primarily of massive hand milled and pegged oak beams. During renovation, termite damage was discovered and repaired. No timbers of the size originally used are milled today so six 2" X 12" boards were joined together to replace just one beam! The barn renovation was completed with the assistance of local Mennonite carpenters and metalworkers. We are pleased to have preserved a unique and historic American barn. 

  The kennel houses 10 comfortable dog runs. It is heated and air-conditioned. It faces across the aisle to 4 existing horse stalls, and on nice days, the doors are left open so the dogs can watch the horses as they come and go. All kennels are indoor/outdoor, with the "outdoor" area under a shed row. Dogs have full access to both areas. Kennels are safely divided with heavy gauge wire, which allows for visual socialization. 

  Training facilities include a large fenced training yard. Most of the training is done on this field. We also have extensive agility equipment, that is used for confidence building during the 3rd week of training, and for service and search dogs.

  Exercise facilities include a 1 acre fenced play yard and a 40 X 40 chain link enclosed exercise pen. Most dogs are leash walked over the entire farm during their stay.
